Suggested itinerary for a 3 Days Budget gorilla trekking safari
Day 1: Leave Kampala or Entebbe and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park.
Today, your guide from Gorilla Link Tours Africa will come to pick up from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala, brief you about your 3 days budget gorilla trekking safari and transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You will stopover at Uganda Equator for a coffee break. You will then proceed with your journey, stopping en-route at Igongo Cultural center or Agip Motel for lunch. After lunch, you will continue to Bwindi Impenetrable forest, passing through rolling hills. You will arrive at your lodge in the evening
The journey will take about 9 hours.
You will stay either at Broadbill Forest Camp, or Buhoma Community Rest camp or at Rushaga Camp depending on the sector with available permits
Day 2: The Day of the Mountain Gorillas
Today you will wake very early, have breakfast at your lodge and with your packed lunch and water, you will be transferred to the park head offices by your guide. The park officers from Uganda wildlife Authority will brief you about your gorilla trek. You will then head out to the impenetrable forest, with your ranger guides and a porter whom you will hire on spot.
Gorilla trekking is the most popular activity in Uganda and you will agree with us that coming face to face with these giant gentle mountain gorillas is a breath taking experience that you will never forget. The whole trekking experience takes about 2-8 hours before you see the mountain gorillas depending on where they spend their last night. Once you get to where the gorillas are, keeping a 7 meter distance, you will spend one whole hour with them, observing how they behave and interact with each other. You will then trek out of the forest to the park offices to be ‘congratulated’
You will return to your lodge for some optional activities and dinner
You will stay either at Broadbill Forest Camp, or Buhoma Community Rest camp or at Rushaga Camp depending on the sector with available permits
Day 3: Return to Kampala or Entebbe
Today is the end of your 3 days budget gorilla trekking safari. You will be transferred to your respective place. En-route, you will have lunch.
This safari can be customized for luxury and mid-range travelers.
Accommodation today is not included
We normally use 4 x 4 WD safari vans for this safari but if you prefer a safari land cruiser, it is possible too at an extra cost.
