Volcanoes national park

The park is located in north western Rwanda in musanze district and it covers approximately 160 square kilometers. It is the most famous for harboring mountain gorillas. And for the fact that it’s a home to 5 of the 8 Virunga volcanoes. These are mount Bisoke, mount karisimbi, mount Gahinga,  mount Sabinyo and mount Muhabura. Mammals that can be spotted in the park include forest elephants, spotted hyena, buffaloes, primates like golden monkeys and many more.

Activities that can be carried out in the park include dian Fossey hike, hiking the Virunga volcanoes, mountain gorilla trekking, nature walks and visiting local villages.

Nyungwe forest national park

Nyungwe forest national park is located in south western part of Rwanda, it covers approximately 1000 sqkm. It harbors over 1000 plant species, 300 bird species, 120 butterfly species, 13 primate species that include the chimpanzees. A guided forest walk is a must do if you wish to discover the parks untamed beauty. As you listen to the sweet sounds of forest birds. Kigali city

Kigali is the capital city of Rwanda, it is a clean and neat city having all the history of Rwanda that is stored in the different galleries and museums. Akagera national park

Akagera national park is the largest park in Rwanda suited in the eastern region, it’s a haven to over 500 bird species, a number of mammals that include leopards, lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes, zebras and many more

Best time to visit Rwanda on tour

Rwanda is open for tourism all year round however different seasons are better according to your interests. Wet seasons of March to May and October to November make some road challenging. However they are best for bird watching making it a great season for bird lovers.

The dry seasons are June to September and December to February. during this period, the roads are passable, game viewing is clear since animals gather on water bodies. Chimpanzee and gorilla trekking possible due to passable trails making it the perfect time for a safari and referred to as the peak season. Where a number of tourists flock to different tourism destinations.
