Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by our guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to explore Nairobi’s attractions or relax at your hotel.
Day 2: Nairobi to Masai Mara
After breakfast, begin your journey to Masai Mara National Reserve. The drive takes approximately 5-6 hours, offering scenic views of the Great Rift Valley. Arrive at your lodge or camp in Masai Mara in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in Masai Mara, renowned for its abundant wildlife including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino). Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Full Day in Masai Mara
Spend the entire day exploring Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. Marvel at the vast savannah plains dotted with acacia trees, and witness the Great Migration (seasonal highlight) if visiting during the migration period. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, surrounded by the sounds of nature and the sight of grazing animals. Day 4: Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru
Early morning game drive in Masai Mara to catch the sunrise and view wildlife at their most active. Return to your lodge for breakfast and then depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, known for its flamingos and rhino sanctuary. The journey takes about 4-5 hours. Lunch at your lodge or camp upon arrival, followed by an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru to spot rhinos, flamingos, and other wildlife species. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge or camp near Lake Nakuru.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Uganda)
After breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda. The journey is approximately 7-8 hours, including border crossing formalities. Lunch en route. Arrive in Bwindi in the evening and check-in at your lodge near the forest. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Early morning breakfast at your lodge before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Embark on an exhilarating trek through the dense jungle of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, accompanied by experienced guides and trackers. Once you locate a gorilla family, spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat, an experience that will stay with you forever. After trekking, return to your lodge to relax and relive your gorilla encounter. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Day 7: Bwindi to Kampala (Departure)
After breakfast, depart Bwindi and drive back to Kampala, Uganda’s capital city (approximately 8-9 hours). Lunch en route. Arrive in Kampala in the evening and transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your unforgettable Masai Mara and Gorilla Trekking safari holiday.
